Sonic Utopia is the modern Sonic game that fans have been waiting for all along. You can play the demo version but expect a short session. It is a far cry from an actual finished game. As mentioned, Sonic Utopia is still under development. To accumulate momentum to go off the scene, hold the Shift key, and then release. The directional arrows move Sonic while the space bar allows him to jump. To control Sonic, you use the keyboard in a simple way. It even emulates the multiple paths through levels, allowing players to choose the path they want to take. Like a proper Sonic game, there will be platforming, although it looks more like high-speed parkour. Everything will be nostalgic, from the insane looping and vegetation of the scenery to the enemies and music. The map is fully 3D with all the elements that fans loved about Sonic: the Hedgehog. Here, players have an open world to run, jump, and go through. Sonic Utopia is a game that looks to fix the problems that 3D Sonic games have.
Games, such as Sonic Generations, were decent, but they were pretty average. No matter how hard they tried, no title has managed to match the love that the '90's platformers gained. Creating a modern Sonic Game has been a challenge for developers.
